This clay pot was designed and made by hand specifically to promote vigorous growth and healthy roots for your phragmipedium orchids.

This pot is significantly taller than many clay pots, to accommodate the fact that phrag roots like to grow deep and stay wet.

This is the large size phrag pot, 6 inches in diameter by 7 inches high. Works great for miltoniopis and cymbidiums, too.

This pot has a clay cone in the center and the drain holes are elevated slightly above the bottom of the pot, so the pot holds a small amount of water at the bottom after watering.

These pots are fairly porous and absorb that water quickly. The water then evaporates from the outside of the pot and down through the center cone.  This acts as an evaporative cooler and keeps the media around the roots 8 to 10 degrees cooler than it normally would be. 

Our phrags really appreciate that.

We started making and using these pots last year and the difference in how well our cooler growing phrags grow and bloom in them is amazing.

They grow at least twice as fast as the plants in plastic pots on the bench right beside them.

These pots are hand made from white clay. Great for miltoniopsis and cymbidiums, too.
